They're not taking garland. I think that trade would have already happened if they would take him. Kuz is never going to fit in tocchets system. It's unfortunate because he is a talented player but better to just move on IMO. Fabbro at least has some upside and could be a useful depth piece for us.

very very interesting. do van fans actually want to cut their lose with Kuzy already? as an oil fan I love the player and wanted him two years ago. don't mind the value. If anything I think with Fabbro's play this year take out the 3rd and preds might take it. (Fabbro BC boy ik yall want him home LOL)

I just don't think Kuz is ever going to work under Tocchet. It's unfortunate because he's a talented player and could definitely take off again offensively elsewhere but I think it's worth cutting our losses and moving on if we can. I'd be fine with a straight up Fabbro for Kuzmenko swap. Both guys have been in and out of the lineup a bit. Van needs help on defense still and specifically RHD. Fabbro is young enough and steady in his own end that I think he would fit in fine even if it's in a 3rd pair role. Nashville could use more offense and I think would be worth taking the risk on Kuzmenko.

It's solid reasoning. I can see it. it's tough, right? Great HC, but a great player doesn't fit the system. These things come with being competitive, you have to move on from some guys that can play simply because they don't fit anymore, which happens everywhere. Thanks for the reply.

How about trading some draft picks for Dante Fabbro.
Would that work or will it hurt?

We don't have the capspace without moving money out plus I'm not a fan of moving more draft capital. I also think we just need to move on from Kuzmenko before things get worse and value plummets to untradeable territory. He's a talented player but I just don't think it's ever going to work with tocchet.
