Its not a terrible idea as a placeholder. There are other teams. Alternatively maybe Winnipeg would do it, they just signed a 30 year old Niederreiter for 3 more years at $4M per. They also took Nate Schmidt off the Canucks hands for $5.9M per (only two years left on that whopper) and coughed up a 3rd no less. So who knows. Maybe you should ask for a 3rd for Garland: odds are Winnipeg would do it?
