What do we honestly have to lose? Rangers got lucky with Quick this year; maybe we get lucky with Halak. Vanecek is terrible this year and Schmid is too inconsistent

Last I saw he was with Carolina on PTO. It sounded like it wasn’t going well.

There was something floating around the other day from MTL reporter saying Habs would give Allen away for nothing, as long as they didn’t have to pay to move him or retain salary. If we want long in the tooth, maybe that is more appealing (although I’d rather give a pick for 50%).

Yeah Halak got released from his PTO but I wouldn't mind giving it a shot. I wouldn't mind making a move for Allen, but it'd have to be half retained for probably a 3rd round pick
