That Toronto trade.......

with Boychuk, the leafs might be oldest team in league. don't know if the leafs could afford to give up two regulars and martin for one boychuk. could be a cap issue too.

Too much for boychuk, brown scored 20 as a rookie behind our main 3 and bazooka will easily get us a 2nd or possibly 1st rounder as a rental for someone.

A few issues.

Boychuk is not going to Toronto. They don't need him and don't want him signed until he is 38. Unfortunately the Islanders are stuck with him.

The capitals cannot afford to take on cap space. They moved Johansson for cheap because they needed cap, they won't trade for any contract over $1M.

The Kulemin deal is fine but Dallas cannot really take on cap anymore with 3 RFAs to sign. Maybe at 50% retained but I doubt it.

I don't think that is enough for Vatanen. It is a lesser return than Hamonic for a younger player with higher potential. Close though.
