Why would he prefer Anaheim to Boston if he leaves Toronto?

Boston is original six franchise in one of the top markets in the league, great coach, great culture, consistently a contender, and the opportunity to play with one of his friends. I don't think Anaheim can offer any of that.

Would love to watch Nylander show Leafland his next level...which I think he can hit on a team like Boston

Would love Nylander, could see it happening, but it all depends on cap stuff. I think Forbort is gone, plenty of young defensemen who need to get in the lineup, Brunet in particular. Like Lyubushkin, but again, too many young guys worth playing behind Mitchell. JVR probably takes a bigger deal after a good season with the Bs, as he'll likely score 20+ goals. 3 million a year per year until he falls off.

Pasta and Nylander have a long standing friendship. The concept of playing on the same line may have some appeal.

There are so many scenarios that can play out between now and the end of the SCF, but one of them isn’t Boston giving Nylander that much for that long. They would offer him 8.5 million and he and his agent would turn it down due to 30 other teams outbidding them!
One scenario that might put Willy on the B’s is that they either win the cup or lose in 7 with the current roster, they resign all the same players, cap goes up by 5 million and he WANTS to play here and tells his agent so! And even then, he’d be better off signing 3 or 4 years for MacAvoy money, be part of a dynasty (yes, I’m dreaming) absorb the current Bruins culture and go for a payday after that.
