Klingberg is a cap dump, and niemela isn’t a crazy good prospect, as well as a late 1st and a 5th is a good price to pay considering Calgary will have alot of teams calling about Tanev. I’d do it easily. Sure, maybe at this price the leafs could ask for half retention instead of just $1.5M, but I think this is most realistic

The higher retention, so the Leafs have more options, would make this more doable.

Either take Klingberg out and change the 5th to Villeneuve

remove the Retention on Tanev, change the 5th to Villeneuve and add Abruzzese for taking on Klingberg

Nope. To make a trade, it needs to benefit us.
