Description
This isnt about a Huberdeau vs Nurse Trade
Its already been done in this Fictional Timeline
This is the Trade After the Trade to make Cap Room long term.

Hear Me Out:

-CGY is Rebuilding and unloading this baggage of a struggle star is needed to focus on building around Kadri IMO.
What CGY gets is an undisputed IMO #2/3 NHL Defensman to Lead their new core.

-EDM gets a high end winger in exchange for a Defensman they replaced much cheaper short and long term
Nurse is a Huge Piece for them for sure but he's making double what he's worth
If he was logging 25+ minutes a night while not producing and playing good D then fine.
But we all know thats not whats happening and Bouchard needs a better mentor Core to become Norris Guy i know he can.

Why's MTL getting involved?
WTF wouldnt we? Even 1 for 1 as they will be traded to each other.
The needs for Cap movement are needed on both side to get in the position to have depth enough to justify this.

Campbell for Hanifin and Holloway based deal sounds like not enough given 1/2 a pending UFA.
But we can profit off Hanafin , Really Use the **** out of Holloway aka Hobey Baker Winner Caufields Winger/set up man after Turcotte turned Pro and left them Holloway stepped up.

Those pieces are huge for us
Besides whats the worst case here with Campbell?
He doesnt suck less then our too AHL noobs drowning in Laval as a Tandem
He can only improve that situation plus maybe our coaches and Price break through to Campbell?

But MTL has to be paid.
Transactions
1.
MTL
  1. Hanifin, Noah
Détails additionnels:
While the actual Exchange of the 2 main pieces will be traded Directly between the two teams Nurse>Huberdeau value wise due to contract size vs production vs role factors.

For this reason CGY has to make this worth it somehow,Right? Well that would be this 3 way trade after their initial direct one.

Hanafin is their buy in to get the more productive player while dumping 1.25m extra long term EDM has to make room for or you had to RS on for CGY to move him.

Instead MTL is going to take on Campbell in the Deal to make it all work but not without getting paid and CGY has to pony up
CGY
MTL gets to profit cause to make this work EDM needs to dump cap and someone has to pay for that. Given they're taken the biggest risk its only logical
    2.
    MTL
    1. Campbell, Jack
    2. Holloway, Dylan
    3. Choix de 1e ronde en 2024 (EDM)
    Détails additionnels:
EDM gets to dump Campbell and add Harris and Huberdeau while being 2.5m nearly, above the cap hit. They can either take Allen at 50% off for a 3rd or use the cap to shop around.

Either way EDM get better overall.
I just dont believe Huberdeau wont Produce beside either Mcdavid,Drisatl or RNH . . . that just doesnt seem likely.
    EDM
    1. Harris, Jordan
    Détails additionnels:
    For MTL
Why take on this dead cap for 4 years 1st in 2024 ,Hanafin until the TDL and Holloway basically while giving up Harris ?

We'll profit off Hanafin at TDL hopefull, We'll pick another Mailloux with a later 1st round pick and we're really relying on Holloway hitting it out of the Park with Caufield again.

That said the Gambles worth it
    3.
    MTL
      So To be Clear:

MTL Gives: 5m in cap x4yrs & Harris
      MTL Takes: Campbell,Holloway & Hanafin

      CGY Gives: Huberdeau & Hanafin
CGY Gets: Nurse & 1.250m x8 years gone (for Hanafin alone)

EDM Gives: Campbell Capdump, Holloway & 1st round pick in 2024.
EDM Gets: Huberdeau , Harris and Campbell gone.
      ARI
EDM can also add Allen at 50% RS x2 years for 3rd round pick in 2025 or 2026 if they need a Goalie. Otherwise they got 2.5m ish left to upgrade Skinner or keep him in tandem with Wolf and invest elsewhere.

        Skinner and Wolf arent,FML
Doing 3 way trades are so hard to keep track of even when you write it all out.
I had Wolf to EDM originally and apparently edited it in on spot but not the other.
I had Wolf and Matheson with picks in the Hanafin deal then i got lost and said **** it then deleted all but Hanafin

Im just gonna call this a Botch
I felt Huberdeau and Nurse are both in need of a new team
Huberdeau is a worse contract then Skinner signed in BUF so i dont see you getting better then Nurse being a big roster piece in the deal.
Huberdeau might not get better but Nurse is still a good D they just paid him to be Seth Jones when he's Matheson maybe?
Huberdeau was signed like he's Drisatl , Matthews, or Mcdavid when he's maybe a Landeskog (whom i adore)

Even if MTL isnt involved or a 3rd team at all i think it would be a good gamble for the Alberta teams to try.
I mean really , who else is going to tackle a contract that big and give up an asset of Value in a bundle better then Nurse

        Nurse isnt worse then Huberdeau.
Hubby was great in FLA but expecting to see that ever in CGY is pretty hilarious.
He's not built for the West, we've seen it before with different players i always think of Tomas Tatar who's off to another rocky start in his 2nd trip to a West Team
We've also seen the opposite with Marcus Foligno going to MIN going from 4th line to 1st line on a skilled hockey team.

While this deal i was hoping would be the exception because Hubby will be the most skilled guy by Mcdavid not named Drisatl since Hall IMO
Plus he has McDavid, Drisatl and RNH so 3 shots to find Chemistry he cannot in CGY
But honestly the smart money would be on Buyout down the road like with Duchene, Johanson, Suter, Parise, Perry and many others because moving a 4-6m dollar player making 10.5m x8 years.
Nurse on the other hand CGY could Retain 2m and a lot of teams could justify it if they were in a position like FLA for example with i think only Ekblad signed past this year on defense.

Im honestly surprise people thought Huberdeau was the piece with value given his minutes, points, point shares , and other metrics while hitting career lows along the way.
Nurse is just overpaid and in Bouchard's way if EDM wants to build a Norris Trophy caliber D

Im calling this post a dude though
        I botched the trade

No, wasn't just referring to the players, Edmonton dumps Campbell, gets Huberdeau and Harris and gets out of the bad Nurse contract too. In general they come out the furthest ahead IMO
