Although Pesce would be a great addition to the team and Carolina might not have money to resign him this year. Just think about it from their perspective. They are trying to win a cup too.

This would be like Carolina offering Scott Morrow and a third rounder for Kulak. Might be close to a fair trade, but for a team trying to win the Stanley cup, doesn't make a ton of sense

This is why I said moves that should've been made in the summer, Carolina was shopping Pesce but nothing panned out, now they have plethora of right shot D Men with his contract expiring- likely looking to give his minutes to Chatfield/Skjei and Deangelo- so could've worked out. I am convinced he is the missing piece to play with Nurse on the first pairing, but it's a little too late now unfortunately...

Even if the Canes were to have traded Pesce this off-season, that offer isn’t even close to getting the Canes to even consider. Broberg is so far down the Canes depth chart, that at the absolute best, he might be the 5th or 6th option after the NHL roster players and a couple of prospects. Safe to say he won’t get playing time, so he might as well have no value in this situation. That just leaves a mid to late 2nd. The proposal is laughable at best
