I recognize we have an over abundance of bottom 6, but j also don't think it's necessarily a problem. We're going to have a couple guys on IR at any given time with Cronins system. While this hot start is great, I don't expect it to last. They are playing playoff hockey, it's hard to do the for 82 games, it will just wear you down too much. It's fine now with a lot of youth and depth, but the guys will need to slow the burn or were going to be in for a long February and March.
Henrique, Silfverberg, Lyubushkin will be gone. I agree with bringing in a RHD, but j wouldn't want to pay more than a Hronek price. Maybe Zelle is worth moving, despite his size he's built like a tank, but his hockey IQ and defensive ability are usually a question, but then again, we have a few more years to marinate him in the AHL, and we frankly don't want to go tossing out depth. We can worry about moving him when he gets close to loosing waivers eligibility.
Anderson would be great, if the price is right. I also am still of the opinion that Risto would be a good pickup. He has the size, grit, and endurance to be an adequate #1 RHD if he keeps his game simple like he did last year in Philly. With his contract, he should come relatively cheap too. He may not be a great #1 RHD, but I would rather hang onto this year's first and grab one of the many RHD that will be available in the mid first round and just acquire someone serviceable instead of buying a true #1 that I don't think we're ready for yet.
We could pull off a Dougie Hamilton move for a guy like Ekbald and it would go okay, but j don't want to use draft capital when we have cap space to weaponize instead.
