The blues don't consider this at all. No interest in Brodie, or a late first or retaining for 1.5 mil for 7 years and giving up a 2nd round pick.

500K would be to make the cap works and it's not really that much cap... Only 3.5 for 7 years, making it's value around a 4rth considering the 4.6 mill MTL retained on Petry

Ok and? That’s still 1/3rd of our retention slots used for 7 years. Way too much
But also This just isn’t enough for Parayko alone, not mention the 2nd there too

I'm not trying to say that this is a deal the Blues should be interested in, I was just suggesting that there was no way the Blues would retain 1.5 for 7 years on Parayko
