Transactions
MTL
  1. Pettersson, Elias
Détails additionnels:
- If Vancouver's season doesn't go well, and the relationship with their star 1C continues to crumble, I think they have no choice but to enter a (slight) rebuild. I don't think trading EP would set them as far back as most people would think, though. The assets they could get back in a trade would help them be competitive in as early as 2-3 years.
VAN
  1. Anderson, Josh
  2. Dach, Kirby
  3. Slafkovsky, Juraj
  4. Choix de 1e ronde en 2024 (MTL)
Détails additionnels:
- Anderson is added for cap purposes... I don't personally believe him to be valuable but I can definitely see other teams paying a first to acquire him that Vancouver can sell to at the deadline.

- I had a hard time coming up with a fair trade for both sides. I would absolutely love this as a Habs fan, but I can also understand why many would be opposed. If a trade like this were to go down, there's no doubt one of Reinbacher or Slafkovsky would be involved. I am personally higher on Reinbacher, and I think his contribution to the organization will be more impactful in the long run.

This is a hypothetical scenario where they head in the direction of rebuilding. It's hard to really put a price on a bonafide superstar because they almost never get traded.

- A 2024 MTL 1st round pick will likely be in the 4-12 range
- Kirby Dach is a top-6 centre
- Juraj Slafkovsky, although his value is probably debatable, has a lot of potential and could very well be a bonafide 1st line winger and one of the best PWFs in the NHL
- Josh Anderson is there mostly for salary purposes, but I think he could be flipped for a late first-round pick at some point

This is a pretty substantial return for a player, one that accurately resembles the most recent biggest player to be traded: Jack Eichel. Although Eichel wasn't as valuable as EP, there's no doubt that this return is MUCH more valuable than the one Eichel returned.

Habs can keep Anderson since they still have the cap space for him

Dach + Slaf + MTLs 2024 1st is a solid package if Pettersson doesn’t sign, but personally I’d want Reinbacher included (would likely mean taking out Slaf)

Swap anderson for suzuki and maybe the canucks consider. You apparently think anderson has good value anyways so this helps habs shed more cap space and retain their valuable winger

Dach is a middle 6 winger.

Anderson is a 22 million dollar cap dump

After seeing Dach tonight, I'm declining this trade. Dach has serious potential, and I mean serious. Slaf as well, he looks very good

I can’t disagree with you on Anderson, but I’m willing to be GMs have a different perspective.

Dach is a legit top 6 centre and he showed it tonight and will continue to show it throughout the season.

I’m as high as anyone on Dach, but we’re talking about EP40 here: a legit superstar, two-way 100 point centre.

Your not as high on him as me, I guarantee. Obviously I would do Petty for Dach+, but at this point, I wouldn’t add a top 10 pick and Slafkovsky to it

Dach was 289th in 5v5 points last year among forward.

32 teams x9 top 9 forwards=288

He's also not good in the dot and most of his production came on the wing.

A couple of secondary assists 1 game into the season doesn't move me

I feel like that's a pretty shallow analysis of the player he was, and could be. If you refuse to believe it until you see it, then go ahead, but there's a lot to like about his game and I can envision him scoring between 60-70 points this year.

I don't believe the PP scoring has much room to grow, if anything I could see it dropping bc 3 and a half minutes a night on the PP is a TON. In order for him to get there he'd have to significantly improve his play driving
