It was mostly merela I want to put on the top 6, Nick Paul is there only because the official lineup has him paired with Stamkos and ABB

Idk Paul was excellent last season when he was on the second line with Stammer in while Cirelli was hurt, and then he dried up when he was moved back down. I think he'd work better there than if you switch him and Cirelli again.

One decent game from Merela shouldn't have him penciled in for the top 6. He's likely ahead of Fortier and Watson for a roster spot atm, but ABB looks to remain ahead for a top 9 spot.

And lol at "Paul was serviceable with Stamkos on the 2nd line". When they were together last year when Cirelli was recovering, that line was a top 5 line in the league.

Yeah, Merela looked solid, but it was one game. If he keeps it going for a couple more then maybe. I do think he gets a spot, just not ahead of ABB atm.
