I don't see how NSH can re-sign Scheifele and Hanifin in this scenario anyway. They're at the cap as is here. They don't really have a ton of UFA money to shed after 23-24. Barrie and Duclair (if they don't re-sign him) come off the books, but Pärssinen and Tomasino will need raises. Novak, Trenin, Lankinen won't get replaced for much less than they make now, if NSH doesn't keep them. Duchene's buy out goes up another $3M for 24-25 too.

NSH doesn't have the cap space to keep this team together, if they wanted to go this route.

Are these trades right now or at the trade deadline? I think that return for duclair is pretty fair but if you’re not in the playoffs I don’t see why you do it and if it’s for right now I think the sharks accept.

There are much cheaper, safer moved you could make that still fill perceived voids. Kubalik out of OTT could be had for just a pick rather than that haul for Duclair, for example. Kinda seems like big name hunting with these trades.
