Doubt Othmann is in opening lineup. Cuylle I think has a much better shot at it, Laviolette loves him, has shown well in preseason, is older, and plays the style Drury and Laviolette love

agreed, give him his 9 games, send him down to hartford, give him a look or 2 here and there unless he takes off.

The 9 game thing is only relevant to enabling an ELC to slide. That wouldn’t apply to Othmann or Cuylle this year…so if either make NYR, they gotta get at least 15 games to see if they can generate any chemistry and gain traction on the team. Unless they show they are clearly not ready for NHL…which hopefully is figured out in TC. Of the two, Cuylle probably has less to gain by starting in HFD.

I figured one of the two of them will (hopefully) make the roster. I personally can see it going either way at the moment, hence why i mentioned it in the description of the post.
