Yea I think sharks consider but he has a M-NTC with 10 team no trade list starting next year, and I don’t see how the sharks aren’t one of the 10 teams he writes into his list.

I would. His last 3-4 years are likely going to see a major decline so they should build that into his total compensation. $52M vs $60M is a big difference as is the AAV. Paying a guy halfway to age 31 $7.5M at the very beginning of an 8 year deal is tough to swallow.

I don't disagree, but its going to be a number that is not good for his last couple of years. The reality is that our window is likely over in about 7 years or so when all these guys are getting into the back end of their 30s. If he wants to take a discount to stay here, we're gonna have to meet him somewhere in the 7-8 range I would bet.

A discount over 8 years is $6.5M per. No team is going to offer him more than 6 years in UFA which would put him around $8.5-9M per. If he's getting 8 years and giving a discount, $6.5M is the number.

I think there's a team that will offer him 7 years. The way teams are spending money these days that wouldn't shock me. I'd hope we could just get a 7 year contract with him honestly.
