He's behind 3 defenseman and won't be playing above zub as having all of the top 4 d left shot is just not what they should do. He likely tops out as a 4th/5th dman, some potential to be pp2 on a team and be okay 5v5 but he isn't worth nearly what you think rn that's for sure

He is currently behind chabot, Sanderson, Chychrun and zub. He isn't going to be an elite dman let alone he may not become a top 4 dman and that's fine atleast he's an nhl dman. You should really prepare yourself for a lower return than you expect maybe put the bias aside on this one.

You don't have to be elite to be worth more than the guy below. That has nothing to do with bias. Saying to someone you're biased if you expect a better return than Logan Stanley is quite ridiculous



Also, Chychrun and Zub will most likely both play on RD. Brannstrom play LD in Ottawa so he's only behind Chabot and Sanderson. It looks like you're not even at defensive sides level

And again, his advanced metrics and play on the ice all suggest that he was already too good for a 3rd pairing so yes he could be on the 2nd pair of many teams already

I don't think the Jets are interested in moving Schmidt to be honest. He's a great locker room presence and did a solid job babysitting Samberg last year. He's costs a lot, but it's not like he can't stay in the lineup.
