Description
I Personally Believe the biggest loser from todays trade is Beck. I think he has a real shot of making the team to play his 9 ELC games while Dvorak is out, but now with Pearson in the team I have the lines as such

Without Pearson I figured they'd lineup something like this
Caufield Suzuki Monahan
Newhook Dach Slaf
RHP Beck Anderson
Ylonen Evans Gallagher

But with Pearson they kinda have to let Monahan play cemter which wouldn't create an open spot for beck to play 9 games while dvorak is out.

****ALSO PS SLAF BEING ON THE 3rd line really isnt a bad thing when the line is very easily able to play similar minutes to the 2nd line so calm down, especially when Monahan is gonna be shown off this year****

***THEN when Dvorak is back BURY ARMIA FASTER THEN THE SPEED OF LIGHT PLS****

I feel like if Beck comes out of training camp on the roster the easiest solution is to send Armia to Laval and Evans to the pressbox for the 9 games or alternate Beck and Evans to buy more time for a trade to develop

Realistically, Beck will be sent back to junior and play in the WJC. He will have a real shot next year. Lias Andersson is one who could push for a spot this year though.

I think the biggest loser is Barron. He was awesome last season but with Pearson, they will keep 14 forwards. It’s between Barron or waiving Lindstrom. I wish they keep Barron and trade Lindstrom/Xhekaj/Kovacevic/Savard

That’s exactly what I’m thinking. Barron will likely be sent down to start the year just because of his contract situation and be the first call up in case of injury. They won’t want to risk losing Lindstrom or Kovy through waivers.
Maybe Wideman gets sent down, but I’d rather have him as a 8th D than one of the young guys. Barron could play top pairing minutes in Laval on a promising team, with Mailloux playing on the second pairing giving you a good 1-2 punch in the AHL.

Barron was good last year but his defensive game needs work so I think they can afford to send him down to start the season to play 24 minutes against #1 guys in AHL to gain that defensive edge

in that time either waive/trade Wideman and/or Lindstrom

Savard would be my first choice but he wont be traded and doesn't have any real value at 3.5 for this and next yr

Anyone saying to trade Xhekaj is silly imo cause with how many forwards are 6 foot and under we need size and willingness to fight, and dont say we have pezz cause that man has heart but hes not feared by anyone

Beck either way will be sent back, I only think he'll get the 9 games before burning a year of his deal

Armia buried right away, then waive either Lindstrom or Pezzetta when Dvorak is back
