I know this is gonna be crazy, but are we honestly good enough to win a cup. I think I’d rather 2 solid goalies and trade Shesty instead of paying him $9 plus mil. That way we can add more depth to the team. More than anything they need to offload Panarin, even if you gotta retain $3-4 mil. That $7 mil in flexibility would be huge. I think not having forwards in the 25-29 age range is what will prevent us from taking the next step. It’s why I truly believe they won’t win with this current core of Trouba, Goodrow, Kreider, Mika, Trocheck and Panarin. I believe the true potential cup winning core will be Shesty, Fox, Miller, Lindgren, Schneider, Laf, Kakko, Chytil and guys like Othmann, Sykora, Berard, Cuylle, Korczak, McConnell-Baker and Perrault.

I think trading shesty is a mistake but giving him 9m might be too, so it's hard to decide what's the path. Imo panarin trouba goody and maybe trocheck are massive mistakes because God forbid this franchise actually see a rebuild all the way through, just gotta through money at top free agents and overpay them for too long.
