They will be better but not a playoff team the east is really strong this season. If we were still in the western conference it would be a a different story. Prospects stay in GR and win the Calder Cup and Detroit gets another top 10 pick. Who knows if they pair Chiarot and Holl together maybe they get a top 5 pick

Chairot and Holl as a pair is scary. I'm always the voice of doom and gloom but this team will either be super average if everything goes right or terrible if it goes wrong.

Petry is better than Gost, and they are both the new guys (Holl signed long terms, no way he isn’t starting). Maata was extended and played well. This is how I sees it

Yzerman signed Holl for about the time he thinks it will take ASP to make the team. Yzerman singed both Holl and Chiarot as place holders or safety nets. They are clearly not the future of the team too many idiots on this site don't realize that. Plus if Edvinsson didn't get injured Maatta probably only gets resigned for a single season if at all. Petry and Ghost are on the same level lets see how they do in training camp before deciding who is better. If Ghost is playing on his off side I'd take Petry over him all day but with the addition Petry it looks like Ghost won't be needed on the right and they probably in the 2nd pair together. Which is a hell of a lot better than Holl and Chiarot in the 2nd pair.
