I’m not an NyR fan,
but u get a hell of a good young RD,
and 2 young forwards that look to be decent 2way guys who should score more in the Leafs system
And those 3 make the Leafs better defensively, which will help u guys in the playoffs when u can’t outscore teams 6-5 like in the regular season

Massive is a bit of a stretch but I think they lose regardless. They’re giving up the best player in the deal along with a 20 goal scorer who only makes 2.1x3, a good young RHD and a depth guy who could be important for 2 nice assets, Kakko who is meh and a bad contract in goodrow. I think they lose the deal

Guys like Kakko & Goodrow & Chytil are the kind of players who help u win IN THE PLAYOFFS- something the Leafs are obviously horrible at
Are these guys as talented as Nylander?
Of course not

But Kakko & Chytil’s offensive stats will jump on Toronto,
just like Jarnkrok’s did


AND u get Schneider??
He’s gonna be really good & can go right into your top4

And the Leafs give up nothing of value besides Nylander,
who they can’t win in the playoffs with


This deal is EXACTLY what the Leafs need to actually do some damage in the playoffs

Nylander has arguably been the best of the core 4 in the playoffs, definitely in the panthers series. Trading him would be punishing the guy who deserves it least. Unless these new guys will make the other 3 perform better in the playoffs its pointless

Kakko had 2pts in round one and Goodrow had 1. Chytil at least tried and had 4.

It's weird to talk about playoff success with the Rags when they got bounced in round one by a team of players who were seeing the playoffs for the first time.

Toronto literally went further than them.

I just realized this is all nonsense no way nyr is letting go kakko chytil Schneider and laffeniere since they wouldn't be able to sign him which I forgot about him so for any trade these players can't get moved...if you do Liljegren for Schneider it would still make it dicey for nyr to sign laffeniere lol.

And yeah, if being on the Leafs can up Jarnkrok’s numbers, think what it can do for guys with more talent?!

These Nylander to NYR rumors and trades need to stop. It's never gonna happen.

I'm talking more recent history here, over the last 3 playoffs he's objectively been the best of the core 4. As for him leaving it's not necessarily a forgone conclusion but even if it is, the Leafs are in win now mode, you keep him and go for it. If they were rebuilding yeah trade him but they're not which is what really forms my opinion about this trade. I don't think trading a 40 goal guy at a really good cap hit and other decent assets for depth helps them win regardless of what the value is
