Yes, the trades aren't realistic. But they're also not fair. Both Reinhart and Verhaeghe are without any meaningful term. So we'd lose both of them to free agency. Anyways, not worth the debate since this would never happen lol

Boston losing their top 2 C, if they get hit with any bad injuries I see them maybe falling behind Det. It sounds crazy but they are not the same team this year they were next.

Batherson + Brannstrom + 1st is too much for my liking, even with that retention.... Batherson's contract is way too important.

I love EK but age and injuries makes it very risky.

The only move I could see with 5.5 retention would be for (in order of assets value) :

1st round pick
Erik Brannstrom (2.0 then RFA)
2nd round pick
Lassi Thomson (ELC)
Egor Sokolov (RFA)
Mathieu Joseph (2.95 x 3 years then UFA)
Travis Hamonic (1.1 then UFA)

Hawks paid 2nd + 4th to take Zaitsev at 4.5 who was much closer to a full dump

Joseph had a down season but still paced for 26 pts and he had 30 ES + PK points in 69 games the year before, all that while being very responsible defensively and excellent on the PK. He's not the big cap dump CF has orchestrated
