I think you are definitely overvaluing him, also Boston doesn't need a middle 6F/C they need a top 6 C (pref 1C) Monahan is not a 1C so Boston is likely Out.

Yeah, took the first team in my mind when thinking about a team that need centers

It’s arguable whether Allen is better than what we’ve already got
If we wanted to bring in someone on Allen’s level, we could’ve signed a comparable UFA
Doesn’t make sense to trade for an extremely overpaid backup who’s old & not good

Sorry dude, but we aren’t giving anything up for him
