I think Min could do better. Byron is not bad, but he's 28 with 1 season at 20g and he's tiny. His contract is great, but I think they'd rather lose Scandella's $4m even if that means they give you the pick.

The Wild will make it work somehow. Byron wouldn't see anything higher than 3rd line time. Koivu line is the shutdown line, and Staal line is a heavy forecheck line. Byron doesn't fit either of those roles. 3rd line is the 200ft line for the Wild, not really a fit either. The only spot Byron would play is the 4th line where Schroeder played last season.

So a 4th liner+ late 2nd for Brodin is an easy pass. Byron would be an add on piece, not the main part of a trade for the Wild. The fit just isn't there.
