Brodie for a 2nd is super reasonable. He is a VERY good dman. But Pittsburgh doesn't have the cap space to make the move. So they pass.

Leafs should be keeping Brodie though.

At this point, no one other than rebuilding clubs have cap space, and why would a rebuilding club give up a 2nd for an expiring UFA?

And just putting 5 guys on LTIR for no reason? with no extra skaters?

Penguins are rebuilding? Dubas would take Brodie for that all day.

Dubas wont do a 2nd for Brodie, based on 3 important issues:

They're capped and don;t have 5mil free, unless you take back 3mil (which you can;t)
They have Graves, Peterson, POJ and Smith at LD, and Letang, Rutta, Petry, Ruhwedel at RD
They are weak in prospects and old enough already
