My concern with San Jose's back end is once EK65 is gone, there is little to no puck movement anymore, nor is there a true PP QB.

Bring in Tony D on a cheap deal for a year once EK is moved just to have puck movement on the back end, and it will help young players like Eklund perform on the PP.

Have there been any reports that he was a locker room cancer in Philly? I know he clashed with Torts a few times, but, who wouldn't. I think Hayes did too.

I just wanted to bring a PP QB in, with EK gone this team has 0 puck movement on the back end.

Chances are you would get POJ or Ty smith if EK goes to the pens who are both puck moving dmen, Tony deangelo was known as a locker room cancer in New york

I think so too, just didn't want to rack my brain trying to solve the "what will EK get in return" puzzle.

I don't want TD on the Sharks.
I'd rather not have a PP QB and go for a high pick next year.

I was just thinking of helping the forwards out. Young players like Eklund, Bordeleau, Zadina, Zetterlund are going to need help from the back end. SJS has guys that can crash and bang in the crease and corners, but your forwards are going to be public skating at the blue line waiting for an outlet pass but can't because Grier doesn't like puck movers for some reason.

Not liking Tony D is valid though. A pens fan above^ suggested if EK goes to Pittsburgh, one of POJ or Smith comes back, and that potentially solves the puck movement issue.

Plus, you can bring in somebody to QB your powerplay and still tank to get a top 5 pick.

I don't see the point in trying this year tbh. I'd rather guarantee another high pick.

Like I said, you can still do that. Grier isn't going to tank just to tank. You can still secure a high pick while giving your younger players more opportunities to get better.

I think they could probably do that in the AHL just as well.

Zetterlund, Peterson, Eklund, and Zadina aren't playing in the AHL lol. Bordeleau may start there but get called up if there are injuries/trades.

They should. This team will kill their confidence regardless a new pp qb.

Also, who cares about Zet or Pet.
Zadina is probably gone at the TDL.

        Eklund matters.

Why would you play any of those players in the AHL?

Zetterlund didn't look good on SJS, but he's 23 and needs time to adjust to a completely different system.
Peterson had 8 points in 11 games, and is also 23. He looked really good.
Saying "who cares" about your young players is likely why Grier is the GM and you aren't, lol.

Eklund tore the AHL last year with Bordeleau. When he was called up, looked decent on a line with Couts. There is nothing more for him at the AHL level, he's ready to start making an impact now.

Bordeleau is 5'10, he likely needs a bit more time to bulk up, but he will play games this season.

EDIT: None of those players are waiver exempt besides aside from Bordeleau or Eklund, and they definitely aren't clearing waivers lol.

I'd only put Eklund in the A. I don't care about the other three. They won't be here when we're competitive again.
Bord and Eklund did look good, but they need to start down.

I was saying who cares about those two players, not all of them.

Everyone seems to think Grier is doing an amazing job. He's doing okay at best.

You’d kill Eklund’s development. Let him play in the NHL, where he’d play in a top6/middle6 role, in a low pressure team and environment where he can gradually get better. No reason he needs to go back down to the A

IF they earn the call up, they earn it. I'm not locking them down there.
