Lmfao the wild decline this faster than it is offered.

1) They don't need a goalie in the deal, they have Wallstedt who is arguably the best goalie prospect in the world at the moment.

2) Faber is a better prospect compared to Harris.

3) Evans would be a bottom 6 center for them and it isn't a good enough deal for them to consider adding a bottom 6 center for what they need to give up.

4) And finally Hoffman is a cap dump and they do not have the cap space for that.

1. Min has a lot of Golaies entering UFA status next year, with little to no pospects other than Wallstedt. Primeau is not intended to be a #1 (also Wolf is the superior goalie prospect)
2. Harris is not a prospect, he is entering his sophmore year. Faber logged 2 games in the NHL with lesser of NCAA stats when comparing the 2.
3. A cap crunch team taking a $1.7M defensive centre is a great add in to even out the below.
4. Hoffman is a throw in with 50% retention - so at $2.2 he could be of more value

What's the point?

Minnesota doesn't need 2 goalies
Montreal is left with only montembeault

Evans is a good add for Minnesota but Hoffman is probably not
Montreal is very very deep at defense in their prospect pool, both of these guys wouldn't even be in the top 5 of best defense in the prospect pool let alone when you consider Ghule, Barron and Xhekaj.

Also there's no point in trading a 22yo 3rd painring def for a 21yo that's never played in the nhl.

This trade makes 0 sens

Montreal also has Allen under contract.
Montreal is deep on the LD side of things. Harris gone would allow for others to Flourish. Harris would be servicable in Min lineup. The two prospects from Min are RD, so they would slot in behind Barron, Mailoux, and Reinbacher; but would be depth on the right side in case of injury or a future trade.
50% of Hoffman's salary is $2.2 plus Evans $1.7 is $3.9 for Hoffmans and Evans - which is not bad when looked at for roster forwards no matter where the slot in.

Oups read too fast at first i tough it was jake allen not jale evans

Still, defense is not a need in mtl prospect pool. Even if mailloux doesn't pan out, there's really only 1 spot to plug and chances are 1 of our many LD can play the other side

If you want to trade harris wait a year so he gains value and target a goaler or a foward
