Yes, but Nylander isn't it. They cannot afford to sign him long term any more than the Leafs can. And, no, not moving or buying out other players to try to fit him. There are other options available.

Ferraro is a fan favorite in SJ. One of those players who are worth more than their actual value, like Hertl.
That's the only thing that might hold this up.

i agree he’s well-liked but he’s not shown much progress the past two years and im not sure how important he’ll be in san jose’s future if his play stagnates (he doesn’t even hit as much as he used to). i also think when a deal like that comes around it’s so good you have to take it

He's honestly looking like the next captain. I agree, the past two years haven't been good. The team in general hasn't.

One thing I'll point out is that Grier has a good offer for him at the TDL last year and he didn't pull the trigger. No idea what it was.
