Why would a rebuilding team want Pesce or Teravainen?

They would obviously be flipped.

Expiring deals that they can flip at the deadline for big assets. It’s not like they’re taking on term, so it’s no risk for them and they will get high end picks and prospects

He’s 22 and had 43 points last year. Had 26 points in the final 33 games. He’s just now breaking out. Should be a big year for KK

YeH I’m not really concerned like a lot of folks are (especially those fun Habs fans who seem to have a vested interest in our team) about kk being 2C. I think he’s likely a lower end 2C at his peak but he’s not overslotted. Balance in his contract and it makes him a great 2C bc you can surround him with high end talent to get even more out of him.

No they can't. Pesce and Teravainen are very unlikely to resign with a rebuilding team and Teravainen has some NTC protection that would potentially block this to begin with and likely be a complication if flipped by SJ. Hence why it is being reported SJ wants the team acquiring Karlsson to get a 3rd team involved. Also helps with the retention.
