The Jackets aren't trading for another expensive dman. They simply have all the defensemen they could use and are spending too much on what they have already.

You wont get 2 years out of either Sammy or Dumba at that cap hit. both would be 1 year. a 1 year 3M is probably close to what its going to end up being IMO and seems like alot of other peoples as well. As far as Dumba. I could also see him taking just a 1 year deal , just like Bertuzzi and Domi, I think the money is there for him with some term I just dont believe its from any teams that excite him. Likely from the Ducks , I wouldnt be surprized if the ducks have an offer out for Dumba in the 5.25x3 or 4 years. I just think he looks at Klingberg and saw how he bet on himself going to the ducks and it didnt workout. I bet he will end on a 1 year deal in and around the 3.5-4M cap hit on a contender. Just not the leafs. Possibly the bruins after they lost Orlov.

You would have to Unload Brodie on the Hawks or Ducks maybe the sharks if they move EK. Kraken. Philly, if they move on from Deangelo like rumor says. The issue will be the MNTC , he will only open his trade targets up to 10 teams. I bet only a couple of those are teams he would even consider being moved to. Maybe the Kraken.... other then that alot of the teams he will have on his list either wont have room for him and his full cap hit. it would have to be a third party retained situation. I could definitely see some contending teams that would want to pick up Brodie on a 1 year 2.5M cap hit.

The Senators, Bruins, Canes are all teams that could pick up a 2.5M cap hit may be on his short 10 team list and would want Brodie.

I doubt it will cost a 1st to dump Murray. I believe the Ducks or the Hawks will step up here . The ducks will move Gibson and will take on Murray as theyre going to need the Salary to even hit the Cap floor. That is why theyre overpaying players like Gudas and Killorn , they just need players to hit the floor. I bet the leafs could Add Robertson to Murray and it wold be a done deal for Future Considerations.

Youre seeing the same thing from the Hawks. Perry and Foligno arnt worth 4M each not even close. however theyre aquiring these veterans who are probably only offered around a million bucks from other teams to hit the cap floor. I bet this deal goes through and Murray will either be a Duck or a Hawk.

He’s owed $6M cash. Anaheim and Arizona have internal budgets. Bailey was owed $3.5 and cost a second to move. There is really no incentive to take on Murray without being paid.
A 3rd rounder has a 15% chance of being a full time NHLer. No one is doing Toronto any favors.
Also, Anaheim still has to sign their 2 best players.

I wont take a first to dump Murray. It will cost a mid round pick or a b level prospect. Its only 1 year left on his deal like come on they would buy him out before giving up a 1st rounder

if it would cost a first theyre better to just buy him out eat the 600k this year and eat the 2M next season when the cap goes up.

They do have to still sign Their top 2 players, my guess is theyre going to try and give Zegras a 6 yearx7M deal. then you got Terry I believe will fall just below him or maybe even identical 6x7 deals. even after that theyre gunna have a ton of room and just be over the cap floor. Would think theye internal budget would be more then that
