Me either tbh, but that's what's left in FA and what they can afford. At this point it's looking like Norris or Zub may have to go on top of Debrincat for this team to acquire quality depth. Even losing Josephs 3m won't help them that much since they need to fill so many positions and even though there is 6D signed, i feel like they need a major upgrade there as well.

We just have to squeeze it for a year and we should get like 10 mill in space between the cap going up and the buyouts coming off the books

This proposal is very similar to another ACGM did so I'll copy/paste some of what I said there.


- I'd rather have Joseph than Vatrano. Less offense (we don't need that with the big 5 + Greig + Pinto, etc) but more defense and since Dorion traded Paul and Brown then Formenton "disappeared", Sens NEED Joseph and his PK ability (Elite results over the years)

- so if you forget about the Joseph-Vatrano swap, it's DeBrincat + Thomson for Gaucher + 2nd. I don't think Gaucher is that great of a prospect but could be a 2nd line powerforward. It wouldn't be bad at all but not helping the Sens much now. But signing Tatar would be so needed...

- I'd also ask for Brock McGinn in the return from Anaheim since Thomson is included too

- I don't know if there would be space to add Zach Aston-Reese instead of Kelly but that would be a heck of a 4th line. MacEwen is pretty bad at NHL hockey, that wouldn't be a good signing. We need to improve defensively at 5v5.

Now that's a forward group. Tatar would elevate Pinto and Joseph's games. Greig is so smart and Norris-Batherson is deadly. We already know the 1st line is one of the best in the league.
