Way too much given up by Calgary in Chicago trade…laughable for top pair young but experienced and two-way D-man with perennial Selke-candidate Centre who does not age. Way too little from Calgary to get Nylander in other trade.

I could see CHI targeting Hanafin if they want to get a legit partner for Jones sooner rather than later. But, they wouldn't likely have much interest in Backlund beyond next season, Vladar is unneeded, and CGY would likely want more. Which CHI should not be willing to do at this point in their rebuild. Especially if they could just wait until next summer for Hanafin if they really want to pursue him. Although, he might have a new contract with a new team by then. But we have a crap load of LHD on the way to work with over the next few years. So, I'm not sure CHI would even want to reach out for an LHD.
