Is anyone else just as confused as me on this team and Dubas's comments during the press conference??? They are still over the cap, but said they are well under. Also said he doesn't think much will change with this current team before the season. This team isnt much better than last year. the bottom 6 isnt much better. Maybe our top 4 D are better because Graves is better than Dumo but still. Don't get me started with the Jarry signing. Very concerned with this team. Not the offseason I was expecting with Dubas at all. Unless Dubas is lying to us about being done, just to help with his plan and playing with other team's GM's, this team is not a playoff team. NO IDEA whats going here and wondering if other pens fans feel the same. Very concerned with Dubas's press conference. are these the potential lines too????

Expect the following guys to get traded:
Rutta
Granlund
DeSmith

That would clear up around 10MM and leave holes at 3 RW and 3 RD with 7MM in space.

If they swing for Karl, expect Petry to go the other way and for SJ to retain some.

I suspect they have a few offers in place to Granlund to trade for another undesired player.

They are waiting on someone to get desperate for a dman for Rutta.

They are letting the goalie market take shape for a trade of DeSmith.

DeSmith gets Traded or put on waivers eventually.

Dubas isn't done, and think everyone needs to cool it on Jarry. The term sucks, yes but the team is done in 2 years regardless so at that point it doesn't matter. Jarry was the best option on the UFA market and given that Saros, Ullmark and Hellebuyck are still on their teams, I think that's telling that they're most likely going to remain. Guessing Ullmark/Saros were never in play and Hellebuyck's price tag is too large.

Lines are probably wrong too, would put Granlund or Acciari at Center over Carter. I do not think carter sees the ice much this year.

Don't read into those press conferences too much.

No way he’s done. No GM is gonna lay out his plans. Originally Dubas said he wasn’t even gonna be active in FA and then he signed 7 dudes on day 1. Said he wasn’t gonna long term on any big names and then signed Graves and is rumored in on Karlsson. Also has been trying to trade Granlund and Petry. Dubas stressed trades will be his main way to improve. He still needs to move DeSmith now also. He’s far from done

Dubas should change his name to Dumb-ass, especially the way he passed on four players better than Yager in the draft and now these garbage signings. Expect to miss the playoffs for a long time now.

I don't want to give out any grades because I'm hoping he's not done - but if this ends up being the final roster this is an unsuccessful offseason imo. The defense is better obviously. Goaltenidng the same - worse if they dump Desmith. Forward group might be better defensively but not much better offesnively and they are going to be so slow.

I agree with you 100%. I hope everyone else is right on this post saying he isnt done. But his comments yesterday make me a little nervous he is done with big moves. Time will tell I guess.
