Trevor Lewis has signed a new contract with the Los Angeles Kings.

He's not an NHL player anymore. Would rather have the open contract spot.

He wasn't an NHL caliber player last year, and at his age, I'm assuming he'll only get worse.

Trevor Lewis played in 162 of 164 regular season games, along with 12 playoff games the past two seasons.

A great team first (character) player with extensive playoff and SCF experience, he's dependable and accountable in all roles, a Doughty BFF, and on a cheap one year deal.

What's not to like about this signing?

Playing in games means nothing beside the fact that he doesn't get injured. Doesn't mean he's actually providing positive results when he's on the ice. He's a good 4th line shutdown center, but he's terrible everywhere else.

What do you mean? I'm not a NHL GM because I didn't apply myself and trades and signings are 1/100th of what a GM has to do. 95% of this site would be better at doing trades and signings than NHL GMs, we just don't have the interpersonal skills + every other thing they have to do.

Good veteran presence and solid 4th liner.
