In the coming years I believe it will be important for the capitals to keep their firsts. They are looking like they might be able to retool after the Ovi era with the picks they were able to grab and not have to be complete garbage for a few years. If they do things correctly and intelligently they could go from one era right into another one.

I agree. The only first I'd be willing to give up is 2024. This figures to be the last "all in" year i would think

This is the dream. And the trades aren't completely out of range. But I agree with the above comment on not giving up too many future picks.
