I don't hate that Jets deal. Wheeler's contract is so bad. I just don't love moving that pick when they should be entering a rebuild.

I don't think the Flyers would trade Ersson, but I suppose it could be possible. I do love the deal for Philly. If it could be centered around taking Wheeler and the Winnipeg 1st for Sanheim+, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Just not sure Ersson would be the goalie.

You certainly could be right. However, I think it's clear the WPG brass that they aren't much of a destination, and grabbing a guy like Sanheim for 8 years is just like getting him as a UFA. Plus getting a solid G prospect and losing Wheeler's contract, may be too good to pass up for 18 OA.

Pretty sure that it was Elliotte Friedman that said that Detroit is out of the running for Travis Konecny, I guess he's way too expensive for Yzermans taste.

I thought once it seemed like Debrincat is staying put, that DET would pivot to TK. With half salary retained and all those picks, he fits their timeline to win now and would be a nice piece alongside Larkin IMO

Totally agree, We shall see. If DeBrincat trade falls apart. Perhaps Yzerman swings back to TK.

If he does indeed do that, would the trade above be fair value for each? I think the retention does that for the entire framework.
