That Sanheim trade is so bad.

#1 Philly is not retaining salary for 8 years.
#2 the leafs aren't giving up a future top 6 winger and top 4 D for $1M a year in cap space.

Sanheim goes for nothing if you take his full cap. That's a better deal for both sides.

Why do the Leafs trade Liljigren for Sanheim straight up? They don't for the very middling Sanheim. Brodie waiving to Arizona is a worse thought.

Liljegren is not in any mind a top 4 dman he also needs a change of scene it will do them both well

Physical Dmen. Better Dmen is preferred, though I don't know why fans think average Dmen from non playoff teams are better than the Leafs Dmen. Believe the Leafs were 9th in GAA last season.
Brodie isn't going unless you can think of a trade where I team on his trade list wants his 5m contract. Sanheim...that's a wasted cap for eight years.

Also if you go by just the regular season the Boston burins should of won the cup but come playoffs they lost in the 1st round

Wanna a physical Dmen....just sign Gudas. Certainly Sanheim is not a physical Dman. I think it's an illusion that the Leafs get "thrown around a lot". More that their top player don't score enough. Why Keefe played Holl and McCabe so much in the playoff when Liljgren and you could argue Gustafson were playing better, I don't know.

Murray won't cost a 1st to move, Sanheim trade is a gross overpay- Philly would move him for way less if a team would take on that contract, and the Brodie deal is dreadful. You could get way more for him. Also now if you have also traded your best defensive dman away that plays against top comp, your top4 is really bad, and you have added salary commitment while getting worse.

It's been a while since I've seen one like this, and that's really saying something.

Any trade for Sanheim is a bad one imagine taking that risk for 8 years after the year he just had.

I dont see AZ paying a 33yo D 8.5m cash for a one year rental. I dont see Brodie waiving NMC for AZ either.
