An NHL roster needs to be minimum 22 players not 20 . In fact almost all the teams carry 23 . So this doesn't work and those are really lowball contracts . I can't see everyone taking a huge hometown discount like this .

Gonna disagree there. Ullmark has 1 good season and a track record of being mediocre. Not worth a 1st.

Jarry is worse. Take the lesser of the two evils. In this case, Ullmark is better than Jarry.

Sure but Jarry is free to aquire. If Ullmark costs a 1st, that is way too much.
