It’s known Broberg is Holland’s crown jewel in his assortment of prospects. He’s been unwilling to give him up when asked to several times now over the years. Wasn’t willing to part with him for Chychrun, so it’ll likely take a star for Kenny to part with him.

okay so what combination of picks +/ prospects would do it?

To upgrade the roster, as any contender should, but they aren’t going to trade Broberg just for the sake of trading him. They’ll only do it if Holland sees it as a legitimate upgrade to the roster, which he obviously hasn’t yet given the trade talks Broberg has come up in.

it isnt necessarily an upgrade to the roster but I bet JBB would be willing to overpay for him in the terms of picks and prospects. I just want to know his price lol

Tampa would probabaly need to send Colton for Broberg as the main part of the deal, with small adds from each side perhaps as needed. If Killorn does choose to take a long term, lower aav deal to stay, then something like that could be possible. Since Killorn is more than likely walking, Colton should not be on the table. Tampa probably doesn't have the right pieces without him included to pull off a Broberg trade where the Oilers get what they need.

yeah I wouldnt move colton for broberg I was trying to see if there was a possible way of getting broberg without giving up colton, I think a 3 team trade would be possible. We have the assets needed whether we need to trade howard, thompson, etc. however just not what the oilers would want, they want NHL ready players but have no cap to take them on which is making this trade difficult to make. Its not going to happen but Im just trying to see if its possible.

Very frustrating for Oiler fans wanting more too. Only trades with same or less cap coming to Edmonton will even be possible. IMO the only thing Broberg is moved for will be a top 4 right defenseman and Ceci will have to be part.
