Realistically Lysell still needs a few years to develop, he doesn't have the size or speed to compete in the nhl yet. He was mediocre at best last year in providence. If anything we need to get tougher, and with the likes of bert, marchy, bergy, hall, zacha we have more than enough skill guys.

The ducks realistically have 1 defenseman signed right now, and loads of cap space. Forbort is far more than just a cap dump, some of the strongest defensive metrics last year. You could argue he is worth every cent of that 3 mil deal, he eats minutes kills penalties and blocks shots. He would be a great pairing with Drysdale and allow him to take some more risks. With a solid prospect pool, a first and two seconds I don't think moving back a round to acquire a proven defenseman is unfair by any means.

You can argue Forbort isnt worth half of his AAV, and he surely is not worth his actual salary of 3.5M

I would guess that I've seen more than two dozen Boston ACGM's created by your fellow Boston fans that feature Forbort-to-Anaheim trades, and they value him at somewhere between a fourth and a sixth. You should spend some time going back through this month's Boston ACGM's and see for yourself.
