There's no shot you're serious with that Sabres trade. They have no reason to add any of those players or help the leafs with their cap.

Leafs aren’t in cap trouble. If Sabres or any team wants to add cheap depth with reliable experienced players, this isn’t so bad.

That’s the point of the trade. 1 year of Murray isn’t so bad to get cheap players that can play.

Just over 9 mil in cap space with 15 players rostered isn't a great place to be in. With also Matthews, marner, and nylander needing new contracts. They need to dump cap. Sabres don't need depth forwards or depth dmen. They also aren't taking cap for free.

Take more than a 5th to take Murray's contract, and Buffalo just resigned Girgensons and Rousek so there isn't anything other than Timmons worth it. If you want to keep it Timmons and Murray it will cost your 2nd. If it's just Timmons I will give you what you paid for him a 5th.

No thanks on giving up that many assets on a Murray dump essentially.

Their extensions wouldn't kick in until next year so it's not as critical as it would be if he was still signed next year. Also, you could give up less to dump him somewhere else.

That trade with Seattle is fine if you have Schenn and Orlov on your roster. AND Timmins. Way to many - impact - people for a Murray dump trade.
