Canucks aren’t singing a goalie. Martin/Silovs will rotate in that backup role imo. Plus why bother spending 2mil on a backup. You could fill that with a cheaper option even if you didn’t wanna run Martin/Silovs.
I think both rotating will be more than capable. Especially within an improved D core, which I’m assuming they’ll have.

By January, cap hit is prorated. It would be relatively close by the time he's back healthy. If necessary, Myers or Hakanpaa can be trade bait if the team desired Bear over one of them.

Martin magic was fun while it lasted. And as we saw last season, having two goalies who aren't NHL regulars (huge ask for Silovs to be ready this year) if Demko goes down, is asking to return to the draft lottery. It's way too much of a risk when the money is there to bring a proven guy like Raanta in. Not to mention having a capable goalie to spell Demko for potentially 30 games.
