Calgary takes it all day. I wonder if the Rangers would even entertain trading Miller for Hanifin straight up, let alone add. Similar numbers last year, and Miller is younger and was developed by the team.

Flames add Vladar since Halak is old and a UFA. Rangers substitute Schneider for Miller. Flames get a good young forward, a young defender, and a prospect. Rangers get a good back up goalie, a young defender, and a middle pick.

That might work for Calgary. Depends on what other teams offer though. There's a lot of interest in Hanifin, he's easily the best young defenseman available right now. Orlov is pretty good too but he's 31 years old and UFA now Hanifin is 5 years younger and still has 1 year left at a team friendly AAV before he's UFA.
