Description
Without any fancy moves, not really looking for much outsider views beyond Devils fans, could Lindy go with a deeper three line offensive roster and make it tougher to shut down the offense? The 2nd line may not allow Hischier to put up crazy numbers, but should be tough challenge to other team's top lines they go against.
I'd still like to upgrade on Walsh with a veteran expiring RHD before the season starts, but I'm also willing to let the prospects like Foote build on last year and see if they are anything before finding more expensive alternatives.

I'm mainly willing to move on from Walsh as Nemec will be here for 24-25 and would certainly overtake him.

I would probably want to get an upgrade at 4LW, but not really moving anything of value to do so. May find someone that is cast off from another team for one reason or another that just fits the role.

Despite the playoff heroics, I still think Vanacek is the expected starter next season.
Why not have Haula be the 3rd line center and Mercer play on the 2nd?
I also think you should use that 7mil in cap space add a veteran Defensive D via trade or FA on short term deal 1-2 years.
I like that you brought back mostly the same team though

I think we will see Holtz more on left side (certainly on power play, but likely on all o-zone starts).

I think if we had those 12 in lineup, we could also see Lazar at 4C, McLeod at 3C and Mercer on Jack or Nico’s wing.

But in reality, under Lindy, we don’t really have “lines” like other teams. They change every game (every period almost). And it’s worked.

Also, I think we should bring Yegor back for one more year (but it sounds like they are dealing him). Boqvist probably also gets a deal.

If you read the description, I did say I would spend money elsewhere, but the idea would be if we were going to spread out the offense, would this be a possibility.

I get the idea of not focusing on the lines alone, I think it's more a matter of if we did have a 27g scorer at 3C, how much would that change the look of the lineup and where we could make moves to improve.

I have Haula as the 3C to start, but I have a tough time making a 3rd line I love with him there.

Good to have flexibility.

I also like the idea of a big defensive center for 3C. You see what Staal did to Hughes in playoffs…dirty or not, knocked him off his game. And look at how many smaller centers there are in division…Barzal, Aho, Trocheck, etc. Maybe that role is played by McLeod now…but adding a big, veteran two-way 3C could go a long way for us.
