habs dont need to be making these trades, no need to try and contend next season

also Winnipeg could maximize returns by trading Dubois and hellebuyck separately, not sure they trade them in one package

Hughes would never offer that. Jets won't get half that value.

Jets fans are going to have a serious mourning period.

There's no logical, rational or reasonable scenario where the Jets give away those players for nothing of value or anything they need or want.

Fair points, although I believe the Habs are not far from being playoff contenders. They're not as bad as what people think they are. The only reason they finished so low in the standings this year is because they got decimated by injuries. If it weren't for the injuries, they would have won many more games. Adding a few key players would help them contend for playoffs. And once in the playoffs, anything can happen.

With all do respect, everything I've included in the trade does have "value" in my opinion. You're out of your mind if you think those assets are not valuable. But I'll respect your opinion in thinking this is not a favourable trade for the Jets.

Also, the Jets are getting old and are about to enter a rebuild phase. So they will want prospect and picks more than anything.

He's on a one man mission to will value and respect back into the Jets organization. If he says it enough, people will be indoctrinated to said apparent truths.

Beck is going nowhere. Kings can keep Durzi.

Rather buyout Armia and Hoffman at a cost of 1.2M this year then give up the 37th overall pick that can be used on Hrabal or Gajan. There's no point moving that money when they have over 11M in cap space this season with only RHP to sign.

Some may have value in a vacuum, but most do not.

Allen - cap dump. The Jets aren't taking him without being paid to do so.

Harris - LHD. The Jets have too many as is, no value to Winnipeg.

Kidney - average B level prospect, maybe has the value of a 2nd.

Mailloux - ineligible to play in the NHL. Therefore no value

Florida's 1st - basically a 2nd.

So, when you look at all the pieces individually you can see why I'm saying nothing of value or needed by the Jets.

I get your points. Here is what I think.

Hellebuyck has one year left. He publicly stated that he wants to win. Unfortunately for the Jets, I think their playoff times are over. They're entering a rebuild. Hellebuyck has one year left in his contract, making it risky for any team trading for him. The possibility of losing him to free agency will lower his value. Teams knowing darn well that he will not resign with the Jets will also lower his value. I doubt any team in the league would be willing to offer up a crazy amount for him. I could be wrong but that's what I think.

Allen wouldn't be a huge cap dump. The dude is getting paid 3.85 mill per season. Not that bad. He's proven that he can get the job done, and the Jets would be happy to keep him on the roster.

Harris is young and they would prefer him to DeMelo or Dillon, which both of their contracts expire at the end of the season.

Mailloux I think will be fine to play in the NHL. He's a stud. Huge dman with offensive and defensive capabilities.

Even if Florida's pick is "basically like a 2nd", still extremely valuable in my opinion. Very deep draft.

I get your points though. Let's agree to disagree!

Cool. But Hellebuyck wants an extension to be part of wherever he goes, so he won't be a rental.

For Mailloux, it doesn't master how good he is. He is not allowed to play in the NHL at the current time. Until he is eligible to player play in the NHL, he had zero value to any NHL team.

Thanks for explaining your thinking behind the deals. We can agree to disagree.

Actually, no. There is no deal involving Mallioux. I forgot about that pos but the Jets do not discuss trading for him. He isn't even eligible to play ffs.

And Montreal fans wonder why everyone hates them.

Mailloux will play and is better than any Jets D prospect.

You rest on your virtuous self righteous indignation.

We'll worry aboout building a winner while you spin your wheels.

It's not self-righteous, he has 0 trade value unless he gets himself unbanned. Montreal would be smart to trade him to anyone who thinks he has value
