The problem with this is that Vancouver has a very poor prospect pool. Trading all that for 2 pending ufas in Hanafin and Pesce is a very dangerous move. They both will get raises, along with Hronek and Petterson. These are very short sighted moves.

This makes them have a solid team for 1 year and then they go back to being very mediocre, with a very limited prospect pool. I also don't think this team is a true contender. They are good but they aren't New Jersey Devils or Carolina good.

Just my 2 cents.

Good theory ,however he made 850k in Vancouver his 2 years in TB he made 700k and 800 so your assertion he took a pay cut is factually FALSE!!!

Trading youth and picks for aging players is what got us into a mess to begin with. This is actually NOT what the Canucks should do.IMHO.

Steep price indeed, but I like the creativity and its not competely unreasonable. Canucks would likely want sign and trades. Not sure about Pesce.

I believe these moves would only happen in a sign and trade type deal
