Don't see this working for Philly, I' viewing it as Laughton for the 1st, 3rd for taking on Murray. It's been reported that a late first for Laughton was turned down.

It should cost the Leafs more than a future 3rd to dump that horrible Murray contract. That cap space will be huge for them and is extremely valuable. The Flyers also aren't trading Laughton for just a 1st, need a sweetener. For that deal the cost would be a 2023 first, Robertson, and a future 2nd which the Leafs don't have until about 2030.

1 year at least than 5 million is far from a horrible contract. This is just typical capfriendly anti leaf nonsense

Get real. He's barely an NHL level backup at this point making high end starters money. Most importantly that 5 million in cap space for a team looking to contend is massive. Your own team traded Patrick Marleau four years ago with one year remaining at a 6 million cap hit for a first round pick. Chalking this up to "anti-Leaf nonsense" is laughable.

He was very good when healthy last season. But the anti leaf crowd doesn't care about reality.

Keywords "when healthy". If his contract isn't that bad why the hell are people so desperate to dump him? Your "anti-leaf" comment is such a cop out.

And before you even comment that I'm an anti-leafer, I own a Leafs jersey and actively follow the team.

Murray's contract isn't the worst, but the Flyers have a load of goalies now that they took on Cal Petersen. If you truly think he's got good value then convince others to send him to a competitive team rather than a bottom feeder.

Because Samsonov and Woll are on the team. But if it costs much to move Murray, I would keep him and trade Samsonov. Also basing anything off the nonsense that is spewed on this site daily is not a great way to judge anything beyond the sad state of society.

Sammy was a lot better than Murray though, is it because Woll is probably the future if he pans out well?

Reality, you really just said we need to deal in reality with this? Before I even get going I just want to thank you for setting me up so wonderfully with a wide open net.

First off, stop with the victim woe is me crap. Nobody is being anti-Leafs for calling a spade a spade and dealing in facts.

So Murray was "very good" last season.

Murray
3.01 GAA
.903 SV%

Bad numbers but let's give him the benefit of the doubt and see what the other goalies for the Leafs were able to do.

Samsonov
2.33 GAA
.919 SV%

Woll (in 7 games so small sample size)
2.16
.932

Ok, so the other goalies for the Leafs were significantly better. Maybe Murray just had a down year and we should give him the benefit of the doubt again. Let's see what he did the three seasons prior we can get a real sample size.

21-22
3.05
.906

20-21
3.38
.893

19-20
2.87
.899

So over the last four seasons Murray has averaged the following numbers:
3.08 GAA
.900 SV%

In summary he was vastly out performed by the other Leafs goalies last season and his numbers were bad so he was in fact not "very good" last season as you claim. It also wasn't an outlier as over the last four seasons his numbers are terrible. Oh, and not to mention that the number 1 ability any pro athlete can have is availability and the dude is injured all of the time.

Add all of this to the fact that he will take up 4.7 million in cap space for a team next year and nobody will want to touch that contract. The fact is you couldn't be more wrong if you tried and quite honestly using a pathetic excuse to hide behind that with the "anti-Leaf" whining is embarrassing.

Yeah, and personally I think Woll's going to be the guy now. He's just so cool back there. Never scrambling or getting flustered. Samsonov can have spurts of panicky play and still let's in some really bad goals at bad times. But that's my take most people look at only the good with him and there is a lot of it to be fair. But Woll is I think going to win the job.

So in my mind, if it costs anything exorbitant to move Murray, I'd just keep him and have him tandem with Woll. Murray definitely has injury risk, but when healthy he's a good goalie still and has proven he knows how to win in the playoffs so I am fine to keep him with Woll.

So over the last few years throughout mutiple games where he was healthy enough to play and his numbers have consistently been garbage, he hasnt been healthy......lol. Just take the L and move on because the more you talk the worse you make it.

Coming back from injury mid season often leads to a dip in play while getting their groove back. But you haven't watched him play and just use the over stats to prove your point that ignores long stretches of very good play. All so you can feel important in your life I guess. You sure told me tough guy
