Forbort to Seattle to replace Soucy, who will likely be getting a nice raise given his season and how weak the FA class is. Should help their poor PK as well
Really wanted to hang onto Gryz in this build. Was able to put together a cap compliant 20-man lineup, but was just not feasible to have a roster without scratches. Decided Nashville would be a solid destination to retool some of their defense after losing Ekholm last deadline. Josi, McDonaugh, Gryz is an excellent left side.
Ekman-Larsson just got bought out. He's been pretty poor the past few seasons, but he's also been in some pretty rough situations. Tyler Myers, Ilya Lybushkin and Jason Demers have been his more frequent partners over the past 4 seasons. Not great partners to play 20+ minutes with. Playing with Carlo would allow him to activate a bit more and ideally find his overall game again. Figured he would want a pretty cheap, one-year prove it deal but obviously don't entirely know
Swayman takes a one-year deal and the Bruins lock him up to a longer, more lucrative deal next year when the cap increases and overages are no more. Originally had Freddy on a one-year, 1.75m deal to try to keep Gryz, but as I said before, the roster just didn't work. With the extra cap, I locked up Freddy for a few more seasons at a reasonable cap.
I'd take a look at a couple other likely cheap, veteran FAs who have already gotten their paydays that may just be looking to win in good systems. Guys like Parise, JVR, Toews, Perry, Paccioretty (idk about his injury status)
Definitely interested in Forbort, but keep ghe 7th rounder and Kraken will keep their 4th. The world knows thd Bruins are in cap hell. Best Seattle should give is a 6th rounder

The world know the Bruins are in cap hell, but the FA defensive market is really really weak. I think there will be a few teams willing to give a mid round pick. Obviously not too big of a deal breaker though
