Hawks say no to the Pens trade. And a BIGGER NO to the Vancouver trade. Essentially you've traded #19 and three 2nd's for #11, Boeser and two neutral at best contracts. That's a big overpay.

eh there's a world where the value of bedard playing with boeser/garland to start his career as opposed to athanasiou or kurashev or whoever is more valuable in the long run than the second round picks. maybe this isn't the deal but i think finding some skilled guys to play with bedard should be a priority for hawks management

Don't disagree with your position one bit. But at the start of a rebuild Hawks shouldn't be overpaying to get these type of guys either since neither would be part of the long term plan. And Hawks probably don't need both Boeser and Garland anyway.

Hawks fans need to realize that their team isn't going to contend for 3-5 years. They need to get to the cap floor. If they can move the 19th overall pick to get to the cap floor + move up in the draft, they're going to do it.
