So a player we don’t need or want in Arvidsson, a 23 year old who hasn’t done anything and has below average stats, a middle to late 1st, and Arthur (who I’m a huge fan of) for Hart, a 2nd, a 4th, and a solid prospect. So to sum up:

Kings give a late 1st, a good prospect, a below average prospect, and a cap dump

Flyers give Hart, a good prospect, a 2nd, and a 4th

So we basically give up Hart and a 2nd for a late 1st and scraps because the two prospects cancel each other out.

Yeah the flyers would love giving up Hart and a 2nd for scraps why not!

I think OP has it so that the Cap can work. The main pieces for Philly are the 3 extremely young and high quality prospects/picks.

I think it's a massive overpay for a .904 career average goalie. That's 3 first round level pieces and a really serviceable top-6 player for someone who hasn't lived up to expectations, regardless of how bad the defense was in front of him. Korpisalo last year had a worse defense in front of him and put up a 0.913. Even if there is a 2nd coming back, it's still pushed a year down the road.

No thanks for LA.

Kupari is now what Desnoyers hopes to be (a third liner with PK potential and decent in the dot, but can play each wing as well), and Kupari has the ceiling for more that Desnoyers does not.

Arvidsson is not a cap dump, period. He's a top-6 player on a contending team. Does he make sense for Philly, no not really. But he's not a cap dump in any sense of the word.

Elliot is 2 years younger and already more productive in the AHL lol. And he was a 4th rounder not a 1st which is even funnier. Arvidsson isn’t a cap dump but Philly doesn’t want him so if ur going to just dump his contract on us, that would be by definition dumping cap on us or cap dump. If he has value trade him elsewhere and give the flyers futures which is what they actually want.

Take out DesNoyers and Kaliyev and the Kings would say Yes. But I don't see why Philly would be trading Hart to a team whose cap dictates that they'd be getting Arvidsson or Iafallo as the main part of the deal (inasmuch as LA doesn't have a 2023 first).

I get it's for cap purposes but that doesn't mean it make's sense to take the contract. Like you said in your other comment we already have a Kupari type prospect in Desnoyers and whenever Gauthier is ready and is playing center we have Cates to slot into that role. Kaliyev is someone who I've like and wish the flyers took in that draft so he's of interest. In this scenario while Arvidsson has value he would be viewed as a cap dump cause of length of contract.

As far as Hart goes, his career save percentage is as low as it is because of one abysmal season weighing it down. It's also not as bad as you have it sure it's not much better but .906 is what it is. He was top 15 in GSAx this season while playing 55 games behind a terrible defense, 16 more games played than Korpi. Another factor in expecting a larger return is that goalies that are 24 and have 200 games played don't exist, most are just starting to play at his age. If he's on a remotely solid defensive team no doubt in my mind he's a top tier goalie.

I get the arguments. My point is that if I was GM of the Kings, I'm not willing to take the risk at that cost.

My math didn't take into account the 14 playoff games. With the playoff games, it's actually closer to 0.908.

I just went to the NHL website that had him listed at a .906. I really don't think he's going to be moved, would definitely be a though pill to swallow which is why I don't think he will be unless its a massive haul which is very unlikely
