Not gonna disagree, but I also think the Leafs say no, cause this is way too much cap coming back, and honestly, I think both Dube and Mangiapane are overrated. Both guys have been given ample time in the top 6, and they have 1 good season between the 2 of them. I'm probably going to get some hatred from Flames fans for saying that, but i stand by it.

Lol, well, I feel the same way you do about Mangiapane right now, but on the Dube front, I do think he'll end up being a 20-25 goal, 50-60 point scorer in the NHL, with an intangible or two.

It's possible he's only 24. He's got a few years to make the jump.

Marner has less value to the Flames than Nylander. Much less. We already have a pass first winger making 10.5 mil/year we don't need another making even more. What Calgary needs is a goal scorer preferably one with some size and speed. Robertson isn't worth much to us either he'd be destined for the Wranglers.

Went from 18 goals and 32 points in 2021-22 up to 18 goals and 45 points in 2022-23. If these current trends continue, ehhhhh, but hopefully also with more goals.

Yeah there are reasons we didn't keep him in the first place.

The Flames need to stop trying to turn Dube into a RW he's best at Center or LW. They made the same mistake with Sam Bennett and look how he exploded once he went to a team that utilized him properly. Put Dube at LW or Center give him linemates with some skill and he'll be fine.

Dube with some combination of Ruzicka, Dueher, Pelletier or Coronato would be good to see.
